Are you a recent graduate with a talent for writing and a passion for creating compelling content?

Farrans is looking for a Trainee Bid Writer to join our Civil Engineering Pre-Contract team. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career that combines writing, communication, business development and major infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.

Working alongside experienced Bid Managers, Estimators and Technical Experts, you'll learn how to create winning tender submissions for projects ranging from £10 million to over £50 million. No previous bid writing experience is required. We are looking for motivated graduates with excellent written communication skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working alongside Bid Managers to agree bid milestones and submission dates for work packages relevant to the response.
  • Support the Bid Manager in management of writing workshops and answer planning.
  • Timely population of standard company information into tender responses (on-line or in print).
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop and refine compliant, responsive and compelling written responses.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a library of bid information, track record, CVs etc.
  • Update CVs and track record project sheets, by interviewing members of staff and otherwise gathering information, to ensure an accurate and consistent library of information.
  • Assist in development and delivery of ad-hoc tasks such as the creation of presentations, graphics and marketing material.
  • Work in accordance with company brand guidelines.
  • Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Excellent standard of written English with an ability to articulate messages clearly and concisely
  • No specific experience is required, but applicants will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good research skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Able to plan own workload and work to deadline
