Who Are We?
BATCAM is the UK leader in live aerial broadcasting and one of the most innovative specialist camera providers in the world, operating our own fleet of UAV systems on large-scale events every week. From the Premier League and Champions League to Horse Racing, Golf, Rugby and Athletics, as well as international events. We work at the highest level of the industry. Our blue-chip client list includes TNT Sports, Sky, BBC, OBS, UEFA, FIFA, Amazon, Netflix, DAZN and ITV.
Alongside our aerial systems, we operate a suite of specialist broadcast cameras including wire and rail systems, and a range of gimbals from SHOTOVER, Extreme Cameras, Movi Pro and DJI Ronin.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Resources, the Trainee Broadcast Engineer will be a key part of our day-to-day operations. You'll be responsible for checking, testing and preparing equipment for upcoming events, building and repairing cables, logging faults and maintenance, and keeping our kit movements accurate on our scheduling software.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
We're looking for someone with an engineering background - either hands-on experience or a relevant qualification - and a genuine interest in drones and the technology behind them. You'll be fully trained on our systems, but we want someone who gets stuck in, asks questions and picks things up quickly. As new equipment and technology arrives at BATCAM, we want people who are excited to learn it rather than wait to be shown.
An interest in AI systems matters to us, and hands-on experience of working with them is better still. We are actively building AI into how we run our kit, our operations and our engineering, and we want people who want to be part of that.
We need someone who pursues the highest possible quality and isn't afraid to find fault in their own work. For the right person, this is far more than a starting point - it's a launchpad, with the opportunity over time to move towards our live events and on-site engineering work.
