Are you a graduate or early-career professional looking to build a career at the intersection of business strategy, operations, risk management, and financial markets?

We are seeking a highly motivated Trainee to join our UK Markets business in London. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to senior leadership, strategic projects, governance, operational risk, and business management within a leading global financial institution.

Working alongside experienced professionals, you will develop a broad understanding of how a major markets business operates while contributing to meaningful projects that support business performance, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and organisational transformation.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Trainee, you will support senior stakeholders across a variety of business-critical activities, including:

  • Producing management reports, dashboards, and key business metrics.
  • Supporting governance forums, committees, and leadership meetings.
  • Assisting with business oversight and operational risk monitoring.
  • Contributing to strategic and transformation projects.
  • Analysing business performance and identifying trends and insights.
  • Helping improve reporting processes through automation and digital solutions.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across business, risk, compliance, operations, and support functions.
  • Preparing presentations and analysis for senior management.

No two days will be the same, and you'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while developing skills that are highly valued across the financial services industry.

About You

Profile Required

We're looking for someone who is curious, analytical, and eager to learn.

You may be a graduate or have gained some experience through internships, placements, or entry-level roles.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to work.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within financial services, consulting, or a corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Python, VBA, or other data analysis tools.
  • An interest in financial markets and business operations.
