Are you passionate about capturing high-quality video content and live production in a news and sport environment?

We're looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Camera Operator to join our BFBS Forces News and Sport camera team for a 6 month fixed term contract, gaining hands-on experience in this new entry-level role.

Our camera operators are highly skilled and adaptable. Working as a team or solo, they support a diverse range of output across BFBS Forces News and Sport from covering military exercises in the UK and overseas, live sporting events, filming the latest military kit and much more. Their flexibility, professionalism, and commitment ensure outstanding coverage, regardless of the challenge or location and you could be a part of that.

The ideal candidate will be excited to apply their formal training in broadcast camera equipment and filming techniques, while able to demonstrate their experience using cameras through education, volunteering or personal projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
