A.W. Baxter Limited is an established Specialist Transport operator based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, with a further operating base at Ellesmere Port serving the North West. We run a large, mixed fleet of flatbed, HIAB and Moffett-equipped vehicles, delivering specialist and general haulage for customers across sectors such as construction, manufacturing and engineering throughout the UK.
This is an exciting time to join A.W. Baxter as the company continues to strengthen and expand its warehousing and distribution operations. As an apprentice, you will become part of an experienced logistics team, gain exposure to a busy transport operation and build the skills needed for a long-term career as a professional LGV driver.

This 12-month apprenticeship gives you hands-on experience across the logistics industry, with the opportunity to move into a full-time LGV Driver role on successful completion.
What You'll Learn
- Professional LGV driving skills
- Warehousing and logistics operations
- Drivers' mate responsibilities
- Transport office administration
- Driver CPC qualification (required for LGV drivers)
- Safe loading, vehicle checks, and route management
What You'll Be Doing
- Training towards your Class 1 LGV licence
- Supporting warehouse and transport teams
- Learning how to deliver excellent customer service
- Carrying out vehicle safety checks
- Following safe working practices and company procedures
- Working alongside experienced logistics professionals

What We're Looking For
- Aged 18+
- Full UK Category B (car) licence
- Minimum 12 months driving experience
- Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn
Recruitment Process
If shortlisted, you'll complete some initial checks with our training partner, GTG, including English and numeracy assessments, before being invited to interview.
