Trainee Client Advisor - Trade Credit Team

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Trade Credit team at Marsh, this role is based out of our Birmingham office as part of the Corporate team and is a hybrid role that has a mixture of office-based and home working.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Client Advisor to join our successful Trade Credit team. Trade Credit Insurance provides cover against the risk of businesses not being paid for goods or services that they sell. Marsh works with clients in a wide range of sectors across the UK, creating varied and engaging job responsibilities. This role is perfect for someone looking to start a career within insurance working for a global leader within a niche market and is accompanied by an apprenticeship training programme and qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Client Executive team with the daily servicing of our clients and with the renewal process.
  • Manage credit limit requirements for our clients via the various insurer online portals and speaking directly with the insurers.
  • Provide our clients with support and guidance to ensure they adhere to their policy terms and conditions, e.g., reporting overdue invoices, submitting claims on time, etc.
  • Support the Client Executive in client meetings, including gathering data ahead of meetings, producing meeting minutes, and managing any resulting action points.
  • Actively build relationships across Marsh and with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to business processes, systems, and procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • 5 GCSE’s at Grades 9 – 4 (including English & Math’s)
  • Previous experience or deep interest in insurance operations, account administration, broking support, or a related administrative role.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a high-volume workload and meet tight SLAs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence when corresponding with brokers, carriers, and offshore operations teams.
  • High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
  • A proactive, reliable, and collaborative approach.
