Trainee Commercial Finance Executive
Location: Cardiff – office-based
Salary: £25,000- £26,000
Earning progression: Year 2 £34,000 | Year 3 £42,000+
Are you ambitious, good with numbers and interested in building a successful career within property and finance?
We are working with an established specialist finance business that is looking for a bright and motivated individual to join its Cardiff team. You don’t need previous commercial finance or broking experience, as you’ll receive structured training, professional qualifications and one-to-one mentoring from two experienced finance brokers.
This is a genuine career opportunity where you’ll learn how to arrange commercial mortgages, bridging and development finance, with the aim of progressing into a fully qualified Commercial Finance Broker within approximately 12–18 months.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting experienced brokers with live commercial finance cases
- Speaking with clients, lenders, solicitors and valuers
- Researching suitable funding options for different client requirements
- Gathering and reviewing financial and property-related information
- Assisting with the preparation and packaging of finance applications
- Keeping clients updated and helping transactions progress smoothly
- Developing your understanding of commercial mortgages, bridging and development finance
- Gradually taking responsibility for your own cases as your experience grows

What we’re looking for
You don’t need to be an experienced broker. We would be interested in candidates from banking, property, sales, account management, customer service or another professional environment.
You should have:
- At least 12 months’ experience within a professional working environment
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- A professional and enthusiastic approach
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- The ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
- A genuine willingness to learn and develop
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- A degree or previous financial services experience would be beneficial, but neither is essential.

- £25,000-£26,000 starting salary
