Trainee Commercial Insurance Executive
Location: Loudwater, High Wycombe | Fully office-based
Salary: From £25,000
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Experience: No insurance experience required. Commercial insurance experience advantageous.

Polaris Insurance is looking for ambitious, motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Commercial Insurance Executives.
You could be a school or college leaver, graduate, career changer or already have some experience within insurance. What matters most to us is your aptitude, attitude, ambition and willingness to learn.
We are looking for people who genuinely want to build a meaningful, long-term career and have the potential to develop into high-performing insurance professionals and future leaders within Polaris.
The Role
From the outset, you’ll work alongside experienced colleagues on real commercial insurance activity, with structured learning, coaching and support as you develop.
You’ll gain experience across:
- Prospecting and new business
- Understanding client businesses and risks
- Quotations and insurance solutions
- Client relationship management
- Insurer and underwriter negotiations
- Sales and pipeline management
- Annual renewals and mid-term adjustments
- Client retention and account development
As your knowledge and confidence grow, you’ll take on increasing responsibility and begin managing more of the client journey independently.
Your strengths and performance will ultimately help shape your pathway towards New Business / Commercial Insurance Executive or Commercial Account Handling, with opportunities to progress further as your career develops.

Previous insurance experience is not essential.

You will work towards clearly defined KPIs, objectives and performance targets, with your individual performance and development continuously tracked and reviewed.
We provide structured learning, coaching, regular feedback and support. In return, we expect you to take ownership of your development and be comfortable working in an environment with clear expectations, accountability and measurable performance.
Training & Career Development
If successful through interview, you will be required to complete approximately 35–40 hours of mandatory online insurance training before joining.
Polaris pays for access to the learning programme; the time spent completing the training is unpaid. You must pass the subsequent assessment to join the trainee programme.
Once you join, you’ll follow a structured learning pathway and progressively apply your knowledge to live commercial insurance work.
As you develop, you will work towards the Polaris Broker Licence, with longer-term opportunities to pursue professional qualifications such as Cert CII.

Important Before You Apply
This is a fully office-based role with no hybrid working. You must be able to work from our Loudwater, High Wycombe office Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30.
You must also be willing to complete the 35–40 hours of mandatory pre-joining training and pass the subsequent assessment.
