Leeds - Filming across a 5 day week in studio and on location. Depending on schedules, weekends and Bank Holidays may be required

The Team

Step into the fast-paced world of Emmerdale as a Trainee Costume Assistant! We're looking for two Trainee Costume Assistants to help prepare, maintain, and style outfits across studio and location shoots, ensuring the cast and supporting artistes look screen-ready every single day.

The Role

You’ll be right at the heart of the action - Assisting with preparing costumes while following continuity. Ensuring all artists are dressed as required in readiness for their call times as per call sheet. Carry out repairs and maintenance to costumes. Contribute in creating a positive working environment, which meets health and safety requirements.

Skills You’ll Need (Minimum Criteria)

  • Ability to sew and carry out minor alterations and repairs to costumes
  • Be able to demonstrate your creative ability, potentially through a professional qualification in art, fashion, or costume design
  • A flexible, positive proactive approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, being able to adapt approach to work effectively with different people
  • Ability to demonstrate a mature and responsible attitude to costume design; the department and to provide a high standard of professionalism to the production.
  • Team player – supportive and respectful
  • Creative flair, ability to think visually
  • Driving licence is preferred.

  • This is an entry level position – experience of working in a costume capacity on other drama productions, or in theatre, would be beneficial, but is not essential
  • A high degree of creative and organisation skills.
  • Good time management skills, able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Able to think on your feet - adapting accordingly to last minute schedule changes.
  • Positive, proactive approach in dealing with cast, assuring discretion at all times.
  • Able to take clear concise notes that can be quickly read and interpreted by other team members.
  • Accurate eye for detail.
  • Resourceful and problem solving aptitude
  • An awareness of sustainability in the costume department
