Trainee Duty Manager Role at The Leys Leisure Centre
Location: The Leys Leisure Centre, Oxford, OX4 6JL
Salary: £15.06 per hour plus excellent benefits Schedule: Part time (20 hours per week)

We need an enthusiastic, customer-focused team member to join us as a Trainee Duty Manager at The Leys Leisure Centre.
As a Trainee Duty Manager, Your Role Will Include:
You’ll be at the heart of operations, leading with responsibility—and making a real, meaningful impact every day:
- Manage daily operations to ensure safe opening and closing procedures are followed at all times.
- Lead, motivate, and deploy operational teams to deliver high-quality services across the facility.
- Maintain a strong presence on-site, responding to customer needs, feedback, and incidents in a positive way.
- Take control during emergencies, accidents, or operational issues, acting calmly and confidently.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, Serco’s management systems, and site operating plans.
- Foster colleague performance and engagement, including absence management and investigations as required.

Do You Have the Right Fit?
We’re looking for candidates who can:
- Have preferably prior knowledge or experience in the leisure industry (small/medium enterprises) or related sectors.
- Bring operational experience in leisure, fitness, or customer-facing roles—though not mandatory, it’s ideal.
- Demonstrate strong health and safety awareness—the ability to follow procedures confidently is critical.
- Showcase excellent communication and customer service skills, especially under pressure.
- Be firmly organised, skilled at managing rotas, priorities, and changing demands efficiently.
- Exhibit natural leadership qualities—capacity to guide teams, make decisions, and set high standards.
