Trainee Estimator | Glasgow £DOE + Benefits | Permanent
Are you looking to build a career in construction estimating with an established and growing business?
We’re working with a successful commercial fit-out and refurbishment contractor who are looking to appoint a Trainee Estimator to join their team in Glasgow.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career who is keen to develop their commercial and estimating skills within the construction industry. You’ll work closely with experienced Estimators and the wider commercial team, receiving hands-on training and exposure to a variety of projects.
The Role
As a Trainee Estimator, you’ll support the team with:
- Assisting with the preparation of tenders, estimates and quotations
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Carrying out quantity take-offs and measurements
- Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Assisting with labour, material and subcontractor costings
- Maintaining accurate estimating information and records
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams
- Supporting the wider commercial team throughout the tender process
- Developing your understanding of construction methods, materials and project costs

About You
We’re interested in speaking with candidates who are ambitious, commercially minded and keen to develop a career in estimating.
You could be:
- A recent graduate in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related subject
- A college leaver with a relevant construction qualification
- Currently working in a construction-related role and looking to move into estimating
- An experienced tradesperson looking to transition into a commercial/estimating position
