Trainee Estimator / Estimator Bedford
An outstanding flooring subcontractor in Bedford has an opportunity for a Trainee Estimator or experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. They are financially strong, expanding, have an excellent, skilled, and friendly team, and are looking for someone who wants to learn, progress, and grow in a fast-paced environment.

The Role
This is a full-time, office-based role with site visits. You will assist with and develop skills in:
- Reviewing drawings and specifications
- Quantity take-offs
- Preparing estimates and costings
- Supplier and subcontractor enquiries
- Comparing quotations and supporting procurement
- Assisting with tender submissions
- Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting
You will be working on commercial contracts valued between £50,000 and £1m.
This role is suitable for:
- Someone with a construction qualification looking for their first role
- Someone wanting a sideways move into estimating
- Someone with existing estimating experience looking for a new opportunity

The Right Person
- Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work to deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Experience in negotiation is beneficial
- Any construction-related qualification or experience is an advantage
Working Hours
8.30am to 5.00pm
