Trainee Fall Protection Installation & Inspection Engineer at NSS Group
You should have the ability to work flexibly, be it on nights, weekends, or staying away as required
The Division
NSS Testing specialises in the testing, inspection, maintenance and installation of commercial building assets, including fall protection systems, life safety equipment, automation and access control systems.
We are looking for a Trainee Fall Protection Engineer to join our experienced team of height safety professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in a specialist industry, with full training and support provided.
Responsibilities of the role:
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will learn how to inspect, maintain, test and install a wide range of height safety systems, including:
- Fall arrest and life safety lines
- Eyebolts for fall restraint and abseiling
- Gantries and walkways
- Guardrails
- Fixed and portable ladders
- Roof access systems
- General lifting equipment
You will also:
- Assist with inspections, servicing and maintenance work across the UK
- Learn how to identify defects and recommend remedial works
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with British Standards
- Complete job reports and documentation accurately
- Support other NSS divisions when required
- Develop your technical knowledge through industry-recognised training

Requirements required:
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working at height or willing to undergo training
- Good practical and mechanical aptitude
- Reliable, hardworking and keen to learn
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to travel and stay away when required
