Are you looking to start a hands-on outdoor role with full training provided?

We are recruiting multiple Trainee Field Technicians to join a growing team supporting water industry works in your local region. No experience is required — just a full UK driving licence and a willingness to work outdoors.

Please note: this role will be working on a project that is currently scheduled to run until November.

  • EUSR Water Hygiene Training
  • Unit 2 Street Works (NRSWA)

The Role: Trainee Field Technician

This is a practical, field-based role working outdoors, supporting leak detection activities across the water network.

Your Daily Duties Will Include

  • Deploying and retrieving noise loggers (small listening devices) around local water networks
  • Working within DMAs (District Metered Areas) to identify potential leaks
  • Installing 80-100 devices per day on fire hydrants, valves, and other fittings
  • Collecting and downloading data after 24 hours
  • Repeating the process to help pinpoint leak locations
  • Driving between sites and completing manual tasks (lifting, bending, stretching)

Trainee Field Technician Requirements

  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors and completing manual tasks
  • Happy to travel locally and work independently
