Description
As a Trainee Finance Assistant, you will support the Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial information while developing a strong understanding of core finance processes within the housebuilding business. You will gain hands-on experience across a range of finance activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and reporting.
Throughout the programme, you will work closely with experienced finance professionals, building practical skills and commercial awareness. If you do not already hold a relevant qualification, you may also have the opportunity to work towards the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification and then progress to either the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification, depending on your chosen career pathway, as part of your programme.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day finance operations, including processing invoices, expenses, and payments.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records in line with company procedures.
- Help reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies where required.
- Assist with month-end activities, including data collection and basic reporting.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve finance-related queries.
- Support the Finance team with administrative tasks and ad hoc projects as required.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with internal controls, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Develop an understanding of financial systems, processes, and reporting tools used within the business.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Comfortable using IT systems, including Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
