7Formation has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Finance Assistant to join the team based in Corby on a full-time, permanent basis.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Finance Assistant to join our Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in finance. Whether you're leaving school or college, looking for your first office role, changing careers, or considering an apprenticeship, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

About The Trainee Finance Assistant Role

Are you organised, enjoy working with numbers and have a keen eye for detail?

Working alongside our experienced Finance team, you'll begin your career by learning the Purchase Ledger function, giving you a solid understanding of how our finance department operates.

As your confidence and experience grow, you'll have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities across the wider Finance team, developing your skills and broadening your knowledge beyond Purchase Ledger. Whether that's Sales Ledger, reconciliations, month-end activities or other finance tasks, we'll support your development every step of the way.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll become an important member of the team, gaining hands-on experience while building a long-term career within a growing business.

You'll be supported to learn how to:

  • Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and data.
  • Investigate invoice queries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Set up new suppliers and subcontractors on our finance system.
  • Complete HMRC verification checks where required.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Manage the Finance inbox and respond to supplier enquiries.
  • Speak professionally with suppliers by telephone and email.

As you develop, you'll have the opportunity to learn other areas of finance and support the wider Finance team with additional responsibilities.

Full training will be provided.

What We're Looking For In Our Trainee Finance Assistant

We're much more interested in your attitude and potential than your previous experience.

You'll be someone who:

  • Has an interest in finance, accounting or business.
  • Is organised and enjoys working accurately.
  • Has good GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
  • Is comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (or is keen to learn).
  • Has excellent attention to detail.
  • Communicates confidently and professionally.
  • Is reliable, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
  • Can manage your time and meet deadlines.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Has a positive, can-do attitude and is willing to get stuck in.

Previous Finance Experience Is Not Essential.

We recognise that everyone starts somewhere, so we'll provide full training and support to help you develop.

For the right candidate, we'd also be happy to fund a relevant finance apprenticeship or professional training course, such as AAT, giving you the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications while building your career with us.
