The role:

We are seeking to recruit a full-time Trainee Financial Adviser to join our team. The right candidate must be able to work within a small team and have the confidence to deal directly with clients and providers. We are looking for an individual who has drive and determination to succeed in their role, with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a “can do” attitude.

In this role, you will:

  • Give financial advice: Provide holistic financial planning across pensions, investments, and protection as you build toward achieving CAS and beyond
  • Be compliant: Maintain high ethical standards, working closely within our compliance network
  • Continue your professional development: Utilise our full study support to achieve CAS and progress your qualifications
  • Manage client relationships: You will shadow senior advisers, attend client meetings, and gradually take ownership of incoming client leads and existing clients
  • Learn how to technical paraplan: Write comprehensive, compliant suitability letters and conduct technical research as you transition from trainee to adviser

In addition, you will:

  • Provide support to existing adviser team
  • Deal with client queries in a professional and efficient manner
  • Create meeting packs
  • Liaise with a variety of providers
  • Assist the Paraplanner with product research and report writing
  • Follow standard procedures and workflows
  • Process all sales-related paperwork from submission to completion, and any ongoing administration for investments, pensions, and protection departments
  • Record annual review dates on our systems and monitor regularly
  • Help clients to register for and navigate their account
  • Keep your line manager and clients regularly updated on the progress of outstanding cases and dealing with any technical queries
  • Work effectively with our wider support team

What we are looking for:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Excellent diary management, planning, and organisational skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • High emotional intelligence skills
  • Proven ability to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Proven high standard of customer service
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel packages essential
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a financial services role
  • Qualifications – Ideally Level 4 diploma qualified or on the way to completion
  • Must be within a commutable distance to Brough
  • Driving Licence is required
