About The Team

Within the Investment Banking division, the Debt Capital Markets platform supports clients in raising funding across international bond markets through a strategic and advisory-led approach. The DCM Solutions & Advisory team advises banks, insurers, corporates, and public sector organisations on topics including:

  • Credit rating advisory
  • Capital structure optimisation
  • Liability management
  • Hybrid debt solutions
  • Green, social and sustainable financing
  • ESG and extra-financial ratings advisory

The team is recognised for providing strategic advice to major international financial institution clients and helping them navigate complex funding and rating challenges.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Trainee, you'll work closely with front office professionals and gain broad exposure to capital markets and credit analysis. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching market trends and developments across the banking and insurance sectors
  • Analysing the strengths, risks, and positioning of financial institutions
  • Conducting peer group and benchmarking analyses
  • Supporting the preparation of client presentations and marketing materials
  • Monitoring rating agency actions, methodologies, and industry developments
  • Maintaining and enhancing financial and ESG databases
  • Assisting with financial modelling and automation initiatives using Excel
  • Supporting the team's ongoing advisory work across ratings, capital structure, and sustainable finance projects

What We're Looking For

We're interested in candidates who are curious, analytical, and eager to learn.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Corporate Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Previous internship, placement year, or relevant experience in finance, banking, capital markets, or a similar field
  • Good basic understanding of capital markets and debt instruments
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
  • Strong financial modelling capabilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Desirable

  • French language skills
