Our client is a leading specialist in smoke ventilation and life safety systems, providing design, installation, maintenance and compliance solutions across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking to appoint a Trainee Technical FM Contracts Manager to join their team based in Newtownards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual from an engineering, facilities management, building services or technical maintenance background who is looking to progress into a client-facing contracts management role within a highly specialised and growing sector.

Your new role

As Trainee Technical FM Contracts Manager, you will support the management of a portfolio of service and maintenance contracts for smoke ventilation and life safety systems. You will develop a thorough understanding of smoke control technologies, technical compliance requirements and contract management processes whilst working alongside experienced industry professionals.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring planned maintenance, reactive works and compliance obligations are delivered to the highest standards across commercial, residential and public sector client portfolios throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

What you'll need to succeed

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • A trade background in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering environments.
  • Strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn specialist smoke ventilation systems.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications or maintenance documentation would be advantageous.

Desirable:

  • HNC/HND, Degree or recognised qualification in an Engineering, Building Services or Facilities Management discipline.
  • Experience within FM, M&E, life safety systems, fire protection or compliance-related environments.
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance and service contract delivery.
