Where can Next Furniture Manufacturing take you?

Next is one of the UK’s best known high-street retailers and most established online operations but have you ever wondered who builds our stylish and comfortable sofas?

In 2016 we opened our doors with just one production line and 6 years later we have 200 employees and 14 production lines. We’re blazing the way for modern British Manufacturing from our home in Armthorpe, Doncaster.

We have launched a brand new training academy, allowing us to offer individuals who are totally new to sofa manufacturing an opportunity to be fully trained as a skilled upholsterer or frame assembler.

The next training academy start date is 18th July 2022

We understand changing careers can be challenging particularly from a financial point of view, so to support your transition in our industry we pay all our trainees well above the ‘typical trainee pay rate’.

At the end of the programme, you will be moved onto the skilled hourly rate and the opportunity to maximise your earning potential through our uncapped bonus scheme. We will also give you an attractive retention bonus at the end of 12 months employment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
