Role: Graduate Quantity Surveyor
This is a unique opportunity for graduates from any discipline to transition into a rewarding career in quantity surveying. Our Career Change Programme combines hands-on experience with structured learning, supporting you through a postgraduate diploma and professional development towards RICS chartership.
You will work alongside experienced cost managers and project teams on live projects, gaining exposure to cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and commercial management. This role is ideal for graduates who want to apply analytical skills in a practical, client-focused environment.
Why Quantity Surveying
Quantity surveying is a recognised, skilled profession at the heart of the construction industry. It offers the chance to combine analytical thinking with practical problem-solving, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. No two days are the same—one day you might be working on cost plans in the office, the next you’re on-site collaborating with contractors and project managers. It’s a career that shapes communities, leaves a lasting legacy through construction works, and provides clear progression to chartered status.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
