Our Story
The Distefano family, spanning two generations, started San Carlo over 30 years ago and has seen it grow to twenty-five authentic Italian restaurants across the UK – from Covent Garden, Piccadilly and Knightsbridge in London to Bristol, Leicester, Liverpool, Leeds, Cheshire and Manchester, with a growing number overseas – including Kuwait, Bangkok, Dubai, Miami & Sardinia with additional restaurant openings planned as San Carlo continues to expand globally.
You might think we are famous for our authentic Italian food, our warm atmosphere or our distinctive style and service and of course we are, but it’s actually the people behind the ART of San Carlo, who work together to make each memorable experience happen. Nothing we deliver to our guests would be possible without our team of accomplished colleagues.
For over 30 years, we’ve upheld our reputation for Italian cuisine, hospitality and style. From the moment Carlo opened the doors in 1992, we’ve been dedicated to crafting experiences that celebrate the very best of Italian life, food and culture.
The Role
We are looking for an organised and proactive Trainee Management Accountant to join our Finance team. As a Trainee Management Accountant with San Carlo, you’re not just joining an award-winning company, you're becoming part of something special.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
