Trainee Marketing Assistant

The strongest brand experiences happen when people can ask questions, understand what a company represents and connect the message to something relevant in their own lives. As a Trainee Marketing Assistant, you will help bring campaigns to life through brand activation, events and in-person marketing.

This is a practical starting point for someone who wants to build marketing experience beyond the classroom. Sage will support you in learning how campaigns are prepared, how brands are represented and how live audience responses can shape future activity.

The role is full time, on site and works Monday to Friday. Previous marketing experience is welcome but not required. Graduates, career starters and candidates with strong public-facing experience will all be considered.

Before a campaign goes live

You will learn the objectives, target audience and key messages behind each campaign. Training will cover brand guidelines, customer communication and the standards expected when representing a client in person.

Preparation may include reviewing campaign materials, checking current information and taking part in team briefings. You will learn why consistency matters and how small details influence the way a brand is perceived.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

During brand activation

You will support live promotional activity across events and other approved campaign settings. The work involves speaking with members of the public, introducing the brand and adapting your communication to different audiences while keeping the message accurate.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting event marketing and brand activation activity.
  • Representing campaign messages through confident in-person communication.
  • Engaging prospective customers and establishing relevant interest.
  • Explaining approved products or services clearly.
  • Recording audience responses and campaign outcomes.
  • Sharing recurring questions and useful customer insight.
  • Working towards agreed engagement, quality and performance measures.

This is an active, people-facing marketing position. You should enjoy starting conversations, working as part of a team and maintaining a professional standard throughout the day.

Learning from the audience

Marketing does not end when an interaction finishes. You will learn how feedback, engagement levels and completed outcomes help the team understand campaign performance. Accurate notes can reveal which messages connect clearly and where an explanation may need more attention.
