Company Description

Mortgage Train Academy is a specialist training organization dedicated to supporting newly qualified mortgage brokers as they transition from formal education to practical advising. The academy focuses on providing structured, real-world guidance, mentoring, and resources tailored to the mortgage advisory profession. Through a combination of training programs and practical case scenarios, Mortgage Train Academy helps participants build confidence and competence in client-facing situations. Role Description

The Trainee Mortgage Adviser role is a full-time remote position focused on developing practical advisory skills under experienced supervision. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Supporting senior advisers with client fact-finding
  • Preparing mortgage illustrations
  • Assisting in the assessment of suitability based on clients’ financial circumstances and goals

The trainee will help research mortgage products, review lender criteria, and contribute to producing clear, compliant recommendations and documentation. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Learning to handle inbound client inquiries
  • Participating in ongoing training sessions, workshops, and coaching to progress toward independent advising

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Mortgages and Finance, with an interest in residential and buy-to-let lending.
  • Knowledge of Financial Planning principles and client budgeting to support suitable mortgage recommendations.
  • Understanding of Mortgage Marketing and basic client acquisition strategies beneficial for building a future client base.
  • CeMAP qualified (or equivalent recognized mortgage advice qualification) or close to completion.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Comfort with digital tools, CRM systems, and online communication platforms; previous customer service or financial services experience is an advantage.
