Job Title: Trainee Mortgage Advisor

Location: Skipton

Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 per annum + progression + commission

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Are you looking to build a genuine career within mortgage advice and financial services?

Perhaps you've already started your CeMAP qualification, have some experience within mortgages, financial services, or you're simply looking for the opportunity to take your first serious step towards becoming a fully qualified Mortgage Advisor.

We're working exclusively with a flourishing independent financial services business in Skipton that is looking for a Trainee Mortgage Advisor to join its close knit team.

This isn't an opportunity where you'll spend the first year sitting on the sidelines doing basic administration.

You'll work closely alongside experienced Mortgage Advisors, gaining real exposure to live mortgage cases, clients, lenders and the advisory process, whilst receiving the training, mentoring and support needed to develop into a fully qualified Advisor.

It's an opportunity to learn the industry properly, build your knowledge and ultimately develop your own career within mortgage advice.

What You'll Be Doing

From day one, you'll be involved in the wider mortgage process and gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develops.

Your Role Will Include

  • Supporting live mortgage cases from initial enquiry through to completion
  • Assisting with mortgage applications, documentation and client files
  • Speaking directly with clients and lenders, building your communication and industry knowledge
  • Supporting experienced Mortgage Advisors throughout the advice process
  • Learning how to assess client circumstances and understand their mortgage requirements
  • Developing your knowledge of mortgage products, lenders and the wider market
  • Gaining an understanding of regulatory, compliance and FCA requirements
  • Building relationships with clients and providing a high level of service
  • Working towards your CeMAP qualification, where required
  • Gradually taking on more responsibility as your experience develops
  • Ultimately progressing into a fully qualified Mortgage Advisor position

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
