Role Description

The Trainee Mortgage Consultant will support the delivery of mortgage advice and services to clients in an on-site role based in Kent. This full-time position involves learning how to assess client needs, gathering financial information, and assisting in identifying suitable mortgage products under the guidance of experienced consultants.

As skills develop, the Trainee Mortgage Consultant will gradually take on more responsibility in client-facing advisory work.

Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding or strong interest in the mortgage industry and mortgages, with a willingness to learn and develop expertise.
  • Interest or basic knowledge in finance and mortgage lending, including comfort working with numbers and financial information.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and build professional relationships.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and confidence in speaking with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work on-site in Kent, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple tasks in a structured way.
  • Basic IT proficiency (e.g., MS Office, email, data entry systems); prior experience in an office or financial services environment is beneficial.
  • Relevant education such as A-levels or equivalent; progression toward industry-recognized mortgage or financial advisory qualifications is an advantage.
