Trainee Paint Sprayer
Hargham Rd, Shropham, UK
Learn a skilled trade on equipment worth up to £150,000
We are looking for someone to join our paint shop and train as a paint sprayer. You do not need spraying experience. If you are practical, take pride in a good finish and want to learn a trade properly, we will teach you the rest.
You will be working on generators and water pumps, some small, some worth up to £150,000, that go out on hire to sites and events across the country. Now and then you will work on our own vans and lorries too.
What you will be doing
- Preparing equipment for spraying: rubbing down, sanding and masking up
- Mixing paints (non 2-pack)
- Removing, refitting and replacing parts before painting
- Applying labels, stickers and decals
- Carrying out the final pre-delivery inspection
- Working alongside our sprayers in our spray bay, which has full extraction equipment
- Helping to respray our own fleet of generators, pumps and associated equipment for hire and sale

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
