Job description

Heronsgate Capital are recruiting a well-organised, enthusiastic Trainee Paraplanner to join our boutique wealth management firm, which provides high-quality financial and investment advice to high-net-worth clients, primarily working in the professional services industry.

This is an entry-level role, ideal for recent graduates, school leavers with strong A-levels, or those with some relevant experience or studies in finance. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in the financial planning profession while working towards the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (fully supported by Heronsgate).

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in finance, investment, and client service – no previous industry experience or business degree required.

The Role:

As a Trainee Paraplanner, you will start by supporting our team with essential administrative tasks, helping ensure that client information is collected, recorded, and processed accurately.

Over your first 18 months, you will develop a strong understanding of the financial planning process, working alongside our Financial Planners, Paraplanners and Client Services Executives.

You will gradually take on more responsibilities with the aim of progressing to Junior Paraplanner within 18-24 months, supported by a clear development framework and funded study towards the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

In this trainee role, you will play a key part in supporting the delivery of high-quality client service across the financial planning process. Your responsibilities will include:

Client onboarding and administration

  • Support the onboarding of new clients by collecting personal, financial and policy information in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure all client records, files and documents are correctly maintained and up to date in line with regulatory and internal requirement
  • Upload and manage client documentation to our back office system

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
