Gammies Groundcare Forfar (Part of A. M. Phillip) is recruiting for a Trainee Parts Advisor

Location: Gammies Groundcare Ltd, Station Yard, Carseview Road, Forfar, Angus, DD8 3BT

Start date: Immediate Start Available

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, alternate Saturdays 8:00 am – 12.00 pm

National Minimum wage applies (dependent on age)

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

The Role

We are currently recruiting a Trainee Parts Advisor for our busy parts counter at our depot in Forfar. This role is ideal for a school leaver or someone looking to get into the parts industry, learn more about machinery and the workings of a depot while working towards becoming a Parts Advisor.

No two days are the same. This role is within our parts department, where you will be reporting to the Parts Manager and working on identifying and sourcing parts for our external customers and our internal departments, dealing with counter sales, internal goods, and customer inquiries.

With a wide area of responsibilities, we are looking for someone confident in working independently and as part of a team, with a pleasant manner and deminer and great customer service skills.

Previous experience in a customer-facing role is preferred; full training will be provided, and you will be supported throughout by our Parts Manager.

The Company

Gammies has over 50 years of knowledge and experience supplying products and services to our customers. We specialise in supplying Horticultural and Agricultural Machinery, Spare Parts, Accessories, and Service to fulfil our customers’ requirements. Giving advice and making sure you have the right machine for the task you require is our prime aim, and should a visit to our premises be required to do this – “No Problem”.

All the equipment we supply is fully assembled, and on handover to our customer, we advise and instruct on the correct use and maintenance. We are always available post-sale to help with any queries you may have.

The Person

Essential Experience/Skills

  • NAT 5 Maths & English
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Customer-focused, hardworking and trustworthy
  • Excellent memory
  • Willingness to learn

Preferred But Not Essential

  • Experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, sales, hospitality)
  • Previous experience/knowledge of parts
