Role Description
The Trainee Pharmacy Assistant is a permanent, on-site role that supports front-counter and dispensary operations while learning core responsibilities under the direct supervision of our pharmacists. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Greeting patients
- Assisting with prescription intake and collection
- Handling over-the-counter medicine sales
- Providing prompt, courteous customer service
The role involves managing customer inquiries face-to-face and over the phone, taking refill requests, and maintaining strict patient confidentiality in line with GPhC and NHS guidelines. The Trainee Pharmacy Assistant also helps maintain dispensary inventory, unpacks daily supplier orders, monitors expiry dates, and follows standard operating procedures to ensure accuracy and safety across all pharmacy workflows. Full accredited training (Medicine Counter Assistant / Pharmacy Services Level 2) will be funded and provided.

Qualifications
- Genuine interest in healthcare and community pharmacy operations
- Strong customer service skills, demonstrating empathy, patience, and clear communication
- Professional telephone etiquette and comfortable face-to-face interpersonal skills
- Basic stock-handling skills, including checking deliveries, shelf organization, and date tracking
- High attention to detail and accuracy in numeracy, basic documentation, and handling patient orders
- Ability to learn quickly, follow standard operating procedures, and adhere to patient confidentiality (GDPR) standards
- GCSE in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or equivalent) preferred
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Prior experience in retail, customer service, or healthcare settings is an advantage but not required.
