Trainee Placement Support Technician
About the role
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented professional to support the administrative management of Cargo facilities, binders, and line slips across their full lifecycle. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate creation, renewal, tracking, and reporting of facility documentation, helping to maintain smooth operations and strong governance within the Cargo service team.
You will work closely with the Cargo service team, the DART team, Claims, and other internal stakeholders to coordinate the preparation and processing of facility slips, endorsements, declarations, and supporting documentation. A major part of the role is maintaining accurate data throughout the validity period of each facility, ensuring that records are complete, current, and ready for reporting, audit, and leadership review.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and takes pride in managing detailed work accurately and efficiently.
What can you expect:
- In this role, you can expect a varied workload with responsibility across several important operational and reporting activities.
- Day to day, you will be liaising between different teams to support the creation and renewal of Cargo facility slips and endorsements, making sure documents are uploaded correctly to Whitespace and processed once bound.
- You will also be involved in the handling of bordereaux and monthly declarations, as directed by the Cargo facility service team, as well as managing Profit Commissions where required.
- In addition to the transactional work, you will help produce quarterly reports for the Cargo facility service team and leadership meetings, giving stakeholders the information they need to monitor performance and manage facilities effectively.
- Another key part of the role will be working with Claims to prepare annual claims performance reports and supporting the team through audit processes. This means you will have the opportunity to contribute to both the operational accuracy and the broader oversight of Cargo facility management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
