With in-house graphic design, printing, finishing, and its own delivery fleet, Midland Regional Printers manages the full print process to ensure cost-effective, on-time delivery for both small and large-volume orders.
Role Description
The Trainee Print and Packaging Estimator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Nottingham. The role involves learning how to prepare accurate cost estimates for print and packaging jobs, including labels, and cartons, under guidance from experienced estimators. Day-to-day tasks include:

The trainee will collaborate with sales, production, and design teams to clarify requirements and ensure estimates align with quality and delivery standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to develop skills in Packaging Design for a range of printed products.
- Interest in Packaging Engineering, with an aptitude for understanding materials, print processes, and structural design.
- Attention to detail and commitment to Quality Control in estimates, specifications, and job documentation.
- Strong Research skills to compare options, gather cost information, and understand customer requirements.
- Numeracy and basic mathematical skills for cost calculations and margin analysis.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams and supporting customer queries.
- Comfort with using office software (e.g., spreadsheets, email) and willingness to learn specialist estimating systems.
- Organized, methodical approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Enthusiasm for the print and packaging industry.
- Willingness to undertake training and continuous learning to progress within the estimating and production environment.
