Trainee Product Developer
Ambela | Full-time | In-person, Cardiff, UK | Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
Annual salary: £26,500

Ambela is a denim-focused clothing brand built around a loyal, engaged community. Founded by an influencer with 2.8m followers, we're looking for a Trainee Product Developer to join our growing Product Development Team.

Key Duties
Working within the Product Development Team and reporting to the Head of Product, you will:
- Support in the development of new and innovative products, working with the Product Developer and Garment Technologist in producing detailed Technical Packs
- Assist the Product Developer in setting up new Tech Packs to include the Product Developer's design drawings, design measurements, and seam and stitch information
- Complete the Bill of Materials within the Tech Pack, noting all fabric and trim references, colour codes, as well as packaging and label information as supplied by the product team
- Take ownership of the in-house Ambela fabric, trim and accessory library, keeping it up to date
- Coordinate the Ambela sample room, ensuring all samples are accessible when required
- Assist the Garment Technologist and Product Developer in preparing samples for fit sessions. Review samples prior to fitting for adherence to the Tech Pack
- Weekly updating of the Ambela critical path tracker. Work with our garment and trim suppliers to retrieve dates on when samples are expected, communicating any issues to the team
- Communicate with our overseas garment factories on a daily basis, following up on samples, fabric and trim submissions
- Sending of parcels to suppliers and recording costs
- Assist with quality inspections at our UK warehouse, recording any faults or failures
- Update in-house documents such as Supplier and Packaging manuals
- Support with photoshoots when required

Ideal Candidate

- A Fashion, Clothing or Product Development degree (or similar), or up to 2 years' industry experience
- Strong organisational skills, with an attention to detail
- Strong time-management skills; able to prioritise tasks and a willingness to be flexible
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
- Able to work in person, Monday to Friday, from our Cardiff office
Remuneration, Benefits and Conditions
- Annual salary: £26,500
- Pension
- 20 working days paid holiday per year, in addition to normal bank and public holidays
