Trainee Production Operative

As a Trainee Production Operative, you will take part in a structured training programme designed to build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to manufacture high-quality electronic assemblies. Working alongside the Production Training Co-ordinator and experienced Production Operatives, you will gain hands-on experience in PCB assembly, soldering, wiring, cable and harness assembly, and box build techniques. Throughout your training, you will learn to produce work to the highest standards while following company procedures and meeting customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the structured training programme as directed by the Production Training Co-ordinator
  • Learn to assemble PCB assemblies, wiring, cable and harness assemblies, and box build products in accordance with Work Instruction Sheets, engineering drawings and customer specifications
  • Develop soldering skills in line with IPC and company workmanship standards
  • Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, assembly instructions and manufacturing documentation
  • Follow all documented manufacturing processes and quality procedures
  • Participate in practical assessments and competency reviews throughout the training programme
  • Maintain accurate training records and complete assigned learning activities
  • Work alongside experienced operators to develop practical manufacturing skills
  • Carry out production tasks appropriate to current competency levels under supervision
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment in accordance with 5S principles
  • Comply with all Company Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management procedures
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning and continuous improvement
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role and stage of training
