Purpose of the Role
will support the successful delivery of the KTR project by assisting with design coordination, site investigations, engineering documentation, stakeholder liaison and construction support activities. The role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience across overhead line engineering, civil works, environmental management and project delivery while working within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support engineering and project teams in the planning and delivery of KTR project activities.
- Assist with the review and management of design information, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables and maintain project documentation systems.
- Participate in site visits, surveys, inspections and progress meetings.
- Assist with the preparation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and technical submissions.
- Support ground investigation, survey and construction activities by recording and reviewing engineering data.
- Monitor project progress against programme and report on emerging risks and opportunities.
- Assist in the management of subcontractors, suppliers and specialist consultants.
- Support compliance with Scottish Power Energy Networks requirements, CDM Regulations, health and safety standards and environmental obligations.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations and project updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop an understanding of transmission line engineering, tower foundations, access design and construction methodologies.

Essential
- BEng or MEng degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or General Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK driving licence or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of engineering analysis software and numerical modelling.
- Understanding of construction or infrastructure projects.
- Previous site or placement experience.
- Familiarity with health and safety requirements within engineering projects.
