Job Description

As part of the Project Management team the Trainee Project Manager, will assist with the communication and coordination for delegated studies, ensuring that key decisions are made by relevant and well-informed staff in a timely manner and that those decisions are documented and retained alongside the Technical Operations Manager or assigned Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- To be a contact (in times of the departmental heads absence) within the Technical Team with regards to the day to day running of the department.
- Assist the project management team in the smooth running of studies and all other technical studies where required.
- Assist in the start-up and management of all delegated studies alongside nominated Project Manager/Principal Investigator, in terms of design, scope of services and scale in accordance with all relevant guidelines, legislation and SOPs.
- Develop study-specific documentation, such as protocols, worksheets, adverse event reports, institutional (ethics) review board documents and summary reports.
- Record and monitor adverse events, ensuring participants are fairly, ethically treated and their safety is ensured during participation In a study.
- Provide efficient updates on study progress to senior management and/or the study Sponsor.
- Identify risks and execute plans to mitigate risk.
- Develop methods and improvement of the planning and execution of clinical studies.
- Identify new and upcoming Project Management tools and develop existing and new systems for continuous improvement.
- Work with senior management in the negotiation/execution of site/investigator contracts, vendor, and partner contracts.
- Assist in monitoring and managing the project finances in accordance with the sponsor contract and study budget.
- Help lead and motivate all members of the “study” team. This involvement will include the supervision and training of junior members of staff.
- Prepare for or participate in quality assurance audits conducted by study sponsors or specially designated review groups.
- Evaluate, or interpret collected study data.
- Assist with Sponsor management.
- Liaise/assist the business development team regarding client enquiries.
- To assist with writing, preparing and/or reviewing standard protocols and other relevant study paperwork for new studies considering client outcome expectations, data collection and analysis techniques.
- Organise study set-up and preparation.
- Ensure all test materials and other consumables are available for the proposed study commencement and to ensure satisfactory disposal of test materials on study completion.
- Communicate to external customers via email, phone and during visits to ensure the smooth running of studies.
- Assist in general housekeeping of the company premises.
- Undertake such tasks as might be reasonably requested from time to time by their manager.
- Participate in overtime as is reasonably required to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Requirements
- Experience in working on projects in a coordinating role such as a Project Leader, Project Assistant.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities and shifting deadlines.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in communication with key stakeholders/ customers.
- SCQF Level 4 or above in English
- Understanding grammar, sentence structure, and clarity in professional writing.
- Awareness of GCP (Good Clinical Practice).
- IT literate, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Adobe
- Strong attention to detail to identify errors and refine documents for clarity and precision.
- Compliance & Accuracy Problem-Solving
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral, with the ability to present data findings.
- Organised with good time management skills.
