Trainee Project Surveyor
We’re looking for a motivated Trainee Project Surveyor to join our Assets and Building Safety team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in housing, asset management and property investment while gaining practical experience across planned maintenance and improvement programmes.
You’ll work alongside experienced Project Surveyors and Project Managers, developing your technical and professional skills through hands-on experience and a dedicated learning and development package. Your work will help ensure our homes remain safe, well maintained, and fit for the future.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the delivery of planned maintenance and investment projects, helping ensure work progresses safely and to agreed standards.
- Assisting with property visits, site-based activities and the collection of accurate asset and condition data.
- Maintaining project and property information, supporting progress monitoring, budget reporting and risk management.
- Developing your knowledge of building construction, defects, remedial solutions and contract administration.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, consultants, contractors and partners to support effective project delivery.
- Contributing ideas, learning from experience and taking an active role in your professional development.

What we’re looking for
- A genuine interest in developing a career in surveying, asset management and property investment within social housing.
- Relevant experience in a construction-related environment. An ONC in Construction would be desirable but is not essential.
- Good IT skills, including confidence using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, administration and organisational skills.
- A practical and logical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A motivated, adaptable and collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn and use your initiative.

Additional information
- The successful applicant will be required to complete a DBS check.
- A driving licence and access to a car are required.
- Some flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends may be needed.
