Trainee Recruitment Consultant
📍 Thame, Oxfordshire
💰 £28,000–£30,000 + Bonus
🚀 The Role
We’re looking for an ambitious and confident individual to join an established recruitment business and build a career in the industry.
You do not need previous recruitment experience. You’ll initially focus on candidate sourcing, learning how to identify, approach and engage talented people while developing a strong understanding of the recruitment process.
This is designed as a stepping stone into a full Recruitment Consultant position. As your experience and confidence grow, you’ll quickly take on more responsibility, ultimately managing candidates, clients and your own recruitment desk.
đź“‹ Responsibilities
- Speaking with potential candidates and building relationships over the phone
- Searching databases, LinkedIn and other platforms to identify suitable candidates
- Approaching and engaging people about new career opportunities
- Understanding candidates’ experience, motivations and career goals
- Using recruitment software and databases to manage candidate information
- Supporting experienced consultants with live recruitment assignments
- Taking on increasing responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop
- Progressing towards managing your own candidates, clients and recruitment desk

👤 What We’re Looking For
Recruitment experience is not essential. We’re much more interested in finding someone with the right personality, attitude and potential.
- Previous experience in sales, telephone work, customer service or another role involving regular customer interaction
- Confident speaking to people on the phone and approaching people you don’t know
- Comfortable using computers, databases and online systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
- A commercial mindset and motivation to work towards targets
- Resilience and the ability to handle rejection and setbacks
- Ambition to develop quickly and build a long-term career in recruitment
- Living within a reasonable commuting distance of Thame

- £28,000–£30,000 basic salary

- Expected total earnings of around ÂŁ45,000 by Year 2
