Trainee Recruitment Consultant
We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing London-based client looking to bring a Trainee Recruitment Consultant into their team.
This is a good opportunity for someone who is naturally confident with people, enjoys being on the phone and wants to build a long-term career in recruitment. Previous recruitment experience isn’t essential. Our client is prepared to train the right person from the ground up.
The environment is busy, social and performance-focused, so this will suit someone who likes having clear goals and wants their progression to reflect the work they put in.
The Role
You’ll be supporting the client’s recruitment activity and speaking with candidates throughout the day. Around five hours of a typical day can be spent on calls, so being comfortable on the phone is important.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contacting applicants and arranging first-stage interviews
- Screening candidates over the phone
- Following up after interviews and providing updates
- Managing candidates through different recruitment stages
- Coordinating interview diaries and appointments
- Supporting offers, onboarding and new starter arrangements
- Keeping candidate records and administration organised
- Learning to source candidates through LinkedIn and Indeed
- Managing several active candidate pipelines

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
