Join our growing team in Leeds as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, specialising in a range of industry sectors including HR, Sales, Marketing and Procurement and more. About the role
As a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, you’ll learn the fundamentals of recruitment while building the skills needed to source talent, develop client relationships, and manage the recruitment lifecycle. You’ll work closely with experienced consultants, receive structured support, and have the opportunity to progress within a specialist recruitment market.
Key responsibilities
- Support 360 recruitment activity across a range of specialist industries combining candidate delivery with client development
- Build and maintain a candidate network through proactive sourcing, screening, interviewing, and relationship management
- Develop an understanding of our recruitment markets
- Support business development through lead generation, outreach, arranging meetings, and taking job briefs, with guidance from senior consultants
- Manage recruitment processes from job briefing and candidate shortlisting through interview coordination, offers, and reference checks
- Maintain accurate records on our ATS - Bullhorn and track activity, vacancies, interviews, and placements
- Work towards individual and team KPIs, including calls, meetings, candidate registrations, CV submissions, and placements
- Provide a professional and positive experience for clients and candidates throughout the recruitment process

What we’re looking for
- Strong communication skills with a professional, approachable, and confident style
- Proactive, resilient, and motivated, with a genuine willingness to learn
- Interest in recruitment and business development - this is a sales role
- Ability to build positive relationships with candidates, clients, and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to shared goals
- Comfortable working in a target-driven environment and motivated by achieving results
- Previous customer service, sales, administration, or commercial experience is helpful but not essential
