Trainee Recruitment Consultant – Construction Recruitment
Opportunity to learn, grow & build a successful career
Location: Office based in Blackfriars, London
Hours: Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00 & Fridays 08:00 - 16:30
Salary: £26,000 + Commission
🚀 Ready to kick-start your career in recruitment? If you’re someone who:
- Has the drive to succeed
- Has experience working in a full-time role and understands what hard work looks like
- Is eager to learn, develop, and build a long-term career
…then this could be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
You’ll get hands-on training, real responsibility from day one, and a clear path for progression in a fast-paced, high-reward environment.
You might be someone who:
- Is confident, outgoing, and enjoys building relationships with people online and offline (but most importantly in Real Life…)
- Strong communication skills - you will be talking to clients from all walks of life, so the ability to know the difference between a "morning BRUV" or a "good morning, Tom" is needed (seems obvious, but trust me - it's not...)
- Is genuinely eager to learn the ins and outs of recruitment and the construction industry
- Has a positive, “can-do” attitude and isn’t afraid of a challenge
- Wants to build a long-term career with clear progression opportunities
- Is not afraid to talk to people, day in, day out - face to face or over the phone
- Takes initiative and is not afraid to ask questions.
- Would jump at the chance of meeting a client face to face - on a construction site or in a swanky office in Mayfair.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is obviously a tongue in cheek summary but should give you an idea of what you are embarking on, before you click apply. Success in recruitment doesn’t usually happen overnight. It comes from the unglamorous daily grind of showing up, not giving up, drinking too much coffee and trusting the process. By stacking tiny, repetitive wins day after day, that persistence finally pays off when your dream candidates suddenly start accepting your offers!
If you’re still reading and ready to start an exciting new career, then maybe this is the place for you to take your first step into recruitment. Apply with your CV today 🚀
