You can expect to be working in the office (or on-site, in court, etc) two or three days per week.

No Previous Legal Employment Or Work Experience Is Required.
If your written application is successful, you will be invited to an in-person interview which will comprise:
- Further questions focusing on the three Capabilities for this role;
- A short presentation, which you will have approximately a week to prepare, followed by questions on your presentation; and
- Questions on a legal scenario, which we will provide you shortly before the interview.
We encourage you to bring paper and a pen to the interview to make notes, if that would help structure your thoughts.
Interviews will be in-person, likely in our Birmingham office.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Interviews will likely be in early November.
When answering our application and in the interview:
- Use your experiences (legal and non-legal) to demonstrate how you meet the indicators for each capability. Read the capability dictionary to understand those indicators. Make notes to refer to during the interview.
- Generic, unevidenced answers will score poorly.
- Consider using the STAR model, focusing on ‘Action’ and ‘Result’ to help structure your answer.
AI may be used to inform your written answers, but not simply to generate all or part of an answer’s text. If we reasonably suspect text in your application has been wholly or partially generated by AI, your application will be rejected.
