We are looking for a Trainee CAD Structural CAD Technician to join our growing structural engineering consultancy.

Our work includes everything from alterations and extensions to existing buildings through to new-build houses, commercial buildings, retaining structures and more complex engineering projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of, or early in, their career who wants to develop their technical drawing skills while gaining a genuine understanding of how buildings are designed and constructed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with our structural engineers, you will help turn engineering concepts and calculations into clear, practical drawings for construction.
  • Your role will include:
    • Producing and amending 2D AutoCAD structural Drawings.
    • Developing structural drawings and models using Revit.
    • Interpreting engineers' sketches, calculations and design information and translating these into accurate drawings.
    • Preparing general arrangement drawings, sections and structural details.
    • Assisting with reinforcement drawings and schedules as your experience develops.
    • Liaising with engineers and architects to coordinate structural information.
    • Attending site visits and design meetings where appropriate.
    • Helping maintain drawing standards and project information across the practice.
You will work directly with experienced engineers and have the opportunity to learn about structures, materials, construction methods and detailing as you develop.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
