Job Description
Our 18-month Tax Trainee Apprenticeship is tailored for ambitious college leavers who are passionate about tax and eager to take their first steps towards becoming future tax leaders. If you're motivated to grow, learn, and start your journey with Radius, this is the ideal place to begin.
By joining our programme, you'll become part of a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative organisation, working alongside like-minded peers and engaging directly with our senior leadership team. You’ll gain hands-on experience on meaningful projects where you’ll be empowered to think independently and bring fresh ideas to the table.
Your growth and development is our priority. Following a successful 6-month probation period, you’ll have the opportunity to begin studying towards your AAT (level 2/3 and 4) qualification, supported by practical training and one-to-one mentorship. All training and exam costs will be covered by the business. We’ll give you the time, support, and encouragement to succeed with dedicated study leave and mentors who have already completed the same exams. You'll join a supportive cohort of apprentices and graduates, gaining exposure to senior stakeholders across the business while building a professional network from day one.
This programme is designed to open the door to long-term progression. On successful completion, you could move on to our Level 7 Apprenticeship—leading to a full professional tax qualification, continuing your journey towards a leadership role within Radius. Our Tax Apprenticeship Programme is designed not only to get you your qualification but to help you grow into a well-rounded professional and a future business leader. We will support you through your qualification and professional development with annual salary reviews and a market-leading salary when you qualify.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Job Purpose
Radius has grown rapidly at a time when tax requirements have become more complex and reporting more onerous (e.g. VIDA, real-time reporting). The group has tax compliance responsibilities for over 80 legal entities across the UK, Europe, Asia, and US.
Your responsibilities day to day will be dependent on placement and will evolve across the 18-month development programme.
The programme offers successful candidates the chance to spend time in one of our tax and compliance teams such as:
- Tax Compliance Team - responsible for ensuring the group meets its tax compliance obligations. Managing the preparation, review, and submission of VAT, GST, sales tax, corporate income tax, withholding tax, and other tax returns, while maintaining robust controls to ensure compliance with local tax legislation and reporting requirements.
- Direct and Indirect Tax Advisory Team - responsible for ensuring the correct tax treatment of transactions, supporting tax authorities with their enquiries and audits, identifying and mitigating compliance risks, and driving process improvement and automation initiatives.
- Compliance Team - responsible for maintaining and monitoring the tax compliance calendar, ensuring all filing and payment deadlines are tracked and met. Working closely with internal finance teams and external tax advisers, you will support tax audits, enquiries, and authority requests through data gathering, reconciliations, and preparation of supporting documentation. You will help maintain robust audit trails, contribute to the continuous improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls, and support the effective management of the Group's tax compliance obligations.
The role will involve learning across both corporate tax and indirect tax to build knowledge and understanding in both areas, while developing a strong foundation in tax compliance, systems, and data. Throughout the programme, you'll gain exposure to multiple tax specialisms, allowing you to develop a broad understanding of both direct and indirect tax disciplines.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background. Qualifications in Business, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or Economics are desirable; however, we welcome applicants from all academic backgrounds. Minimum requirement GCSE Maths and English at Grade 5 or above.
