What difference will you make?
You'll help children and young people who may have struggled in mainstream education to rediscover confidence, enjoyment and success in learning. Your encouragement and support will play an important role in helping each learner achieve their potential while gaining valuable experience that could shape your own career in education.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who
- Is passionate about supporting children and young people.
- Has an interest in SEND, SEMH and inclusive education.
- Is patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships.
- Is reliable, enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Communicates effectively and works well as part of a team.
- Is proactive and able to use their own initiative.
- Is committed to helping every child reach their potential.
- Can provide 2 references from previous employers and is happy to have an Enhanced DBS Check done for them.

As a Trainee Tutor / Trainee Teacher Volunteer, you will

- Support children and young people with SEND, SEMH and school-refusing learners within our Homeschooling Hub.
- Assist with delivering engaging learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive engagement in learning.
- Build positive relationships with learners, families and the wider education team.
- Support children both academically and emotionally in a nurturing environment.
- Help prepare learning resources and classroom activities.
- Observe experienced practitioners and develop your teaching and behaviour support skills.
- Optional opportunity to support after-school sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
