About Us
At Encompass Geospatial, we specialise in providing high-quality surveying solutions to clients across the UK and beyond. From topographical surveys to utility mapping, we deliver reliable data that supports safe and efficient project delivery. Due to continued growth, we are seeking Trainee Utility Surveyors to join our experienced team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to start a career in surveying, offering hands-on training, mentorship, and clear progression routes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in carrying out underground utility surveys using Electromagnetic Location (EML) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
- Work with top-of-the-range survey equipment, such as total stations and GPS
- Support senior surveyors in data collection and site work
- Learn to interpret utility records, plans, and survey data
- Help in producing CAD drawings and survey reports, in line with industry standards
- Ensure adherence to health & safety protocols on site
- Maintain survey equipment and tools

What We're Looking For
- 3 GCSE’s Grade A-C / 9-5 (or equivalent) including Maths & English. (Required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Interest in surveying, construction, civil engineering, or geospatial work
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Able to perform job duties that require working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- CSCS card (preferred, but training can be provided)
- Flexibility to work overnight/stay away, with opportunities to travel nationally and internationally.
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to change
