About the role
Working across a diverse range of commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public sector sites, you'll support our experienced water hygiene team in carrying out routine legionella and water hygiene monitoring, in line with current legislation and industry best practice (L8 ACOP and HSG274), while working towards relevant qualifications.
This is a varied, field-based position where no two days are the same. You'll work closely alongside experienced technicians as part of a knowledgeable team, gaining hands-on experience delivering high-quality services to clients across the UK.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine water hygiene monitoring tasks, including temperature checks, visual inspections, and flushing of little-used outlets.
- Helping identify and report any deficiencies, defects, or non-compliance issues found on client water systems.
- Maintaining accurate records and logbooks in line with L8/HSG274 requirements, both on-site and using digital reporting systems.
- Assisting with chlorination and disinfection procedures.
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely, following site-specific health and safety procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Travelling to various client sites as required, across a wide geographical area.
- Completing required paperwork, job sheets, and compliance documentation accurately and on time.
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional relationships with client site contacts.

You’ll ideally have:
- No previous water hygiene experience necessary – full training provided.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for record-keeping and liaising with clients.
- A willingness to work at height, in confined spaces, and in plant rooms (training and certification provided where required).
- A full, clean UK driving licence. (Essential)
- A willingness to undertake further training and qualifications.
Please note that there will be some working away involved but it will be planned in advance – Please don’t apply if you don’t have flexibility as due to the nature of our contracts this is a pre-requisite.
Desirable (not essential):
- Previous experience in a trade, facilities management, engineering, or plumbing background.
- Existing qualifications such as City & Guilds Legionella Awareness or a CSCS card.
- Knowledge of L8 ACOP and HSG274 guidance.
- Experience with basic plumbing or mechanical systems.
