About the Role
Our Youth Service is a great team of JNC-qualified youth workers within Children’s Services, delivering high-quality 1:1 support, group work and detached youth work. We work from six bases across Warwickshire, including three vibrant and thriving youth clubs giving you a varied & hands-on role right at the heart of local communities.
Over the past six years, the service has grown significantly, with strong investment and support. Everything we do is driven by a commitment to putting young people at the centre, helping them thrive, build confidence, and achieve their potential.

We are delighted to offer a Youth Work Trainee post, providing a fantastic opportunity to train and develop into a JNC-qualified youth worker – the recognised professional qualification in youth work.
These roles offer a unique blend of practical experience and professional development. You will spend four days each week working directly with young people – delivering 1:1 support, group sessions, street-based youth work, and youth club provision – alongside one dedicated study day to support your academic learning. This is a chance to truly grow, build your skills, and establish a career in youth work.

The post is offered on a two-year fixed-term contract, with full support to complete a part-time postgraduate qualification in youth work. Warwickshire County Council will fully fund all course fees, investing in your future as a youth work professional.
Successful candidates will need to secure a place on the identified course, which requires an undergraduate degree and at least 200 hours of relevant youth work (or similar) experience. The course begins at the end of September and includes one Saturday per month, starting with an introductory weekend at the university.

Staff are based either in Ratcliffe (Atherstone) or Lillington (Leamington). Work base location TBC.
Please note if you haven’t already got a degree and 200 hours youth work experience or related work with young people (11-19yrs), you will not be shortlisted as it is a requirement of the course.
