Working closely with our Financial Services legal teams, we partner with clients to deliver complex regulatory, risk, compliance and transformation programmes across banking, lending, consumer finance, payments, asset management and wider financial services sectors.
The Opportunity
We are supporting a leading financial services client with the appointment of a Consumer Duty Trainer / Assessor to support a key customer outcomes and regulatory compliance initiative.
This assignment will focus on developing and delivering engaging training programmes centred around Consumer Duty principles, customer vulnerability, fair customer outcomes and regulated customer interactions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring colleagues have the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to operate effectively within a regulated environment.

A key aspect of the role will involve facilitating practical, scenario-based learning and role-play exercises, helping individuals build confidence in handling real-life customer conversations and complex customer situations.
We are keen to speak with experienced training professionals who can combine strong Consumer Duty or consumer finance knowledge with exceptional facilitation, coaching and assessment skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deliver engaging Consumer Duty training programmes.
- Facilitate classroom, virtual and practical learning sessions.
- Deliver role-play exercises, simulations and scenario-based learning activities.
- Assess learner competence against agreed business and regulatory standards.
- Provide constructive coaching, feedback and ongoing support to learners.
- Develop training materials, presentations, lesson plans and assessment frameworks.
- Ensure training content reflects Consumer Duty requirements, internal policies and regulatory expectations.
- Support colleagues in understanding customer vulnerability, fair value and customer outcomes principles.
- Work closely with Compliance, Quality Assurance and Operational stakeholders.
- Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate training and assessment records.
- Identify knowledge gaps and recommend targeted coaching interventions.
- Continuously review and enhance training content based on business requirements and learner feedback.

Experience Required
- Proven experience working as a Trainer, Learning & Development Specialist, Assessor or similar.
- Strong understanding of Consumer Duty and customer outcomes frameworks.
- Experience within financial services, consumer finance, lending, collections, banking or other regulated environments.
- Demonstrable experience designing and developing training content.
- Strong classroom and virtual facilitation skills.
- Experience delivering role-play, coaching and practical learning exercises.
- Ability to assess competence and provide effective developmental feedback.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working alongside Compliance, Risk or Regulatory teams.
- A coaching-led approach to learning and development.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A recognised training, coaching or assessment qualification would be advantageous.
- Available to start at short notice or immediately.
