Salary: Band 7, £32,874 - £35,772 (Please note it is Northumbria Police policy to appoint at the beginning of the band) Location: Based at Middle Engine Lane, Wallsend, with travel to other Force locations as required. Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract / Secondment

This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Crime Department as a Trainer (CSE/GBCSE).
We're looking for an experienced and motivated trainer to help strengthen investigative skills and knowledge across the Force in relation to Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and Group-Based Child Sexual Exploitation (GBCSE).
This is a unique opportunity to combine your investigative knowledge with learning and development expertise, designing and delivering high-quality training that supports officers and staff to protect vulnerable people and deliver the best possible outcomes for victims.
What you’ll do
- Design and develop specialist investigative training programmes and learning interventions to meet organisational needs.
- Deliver engaging training using a range of learning methods to support and develop learners.
- Assess learner progress, identifying knowledge and skills gaps and supporting successful learning outcomes.
- Evaluate and improve training programmes to ensure compliance with national standards and best practice.
- Research emerging legislation, guidance and innovative learning approaches to keep training current and effective.
- Maintain accurate training records and support reporting and quality assurance processes.
- Work closely with subject matter experts, the College of Policing and external partners to develop and enhance learning opportunities.
What you’ll bring
Essential Requirements:
- Experience operating within the Police Sector Standard for the Training of Trainers.
- Knowledge and experience relating to CSE/GBCSE investigations.
- PIP Level 2 accreditation, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
- The ability to assimilate and communicate information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience of preparing and maintaining training materials, lesson plans and course content.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a variety of audiences.
- Experience of delivering training using a range of teaching and presentation techniques.

Terms of appointment
This is a fixed term role subject to a six-month probationary period.
If you are successful in your application, you will have a six-month probation period with us where you will be unable to apply for any other post advertised internally or externally.
